On the 26th of September, the world celebrates the European Day of Languages. The occasion represents 800 million citizens of 47 countries and honours the linguistic diversity of the continent of Europe, with more than 200 languages of its own.
In order to raise awareness about the great variety of languages that characterises Manchester, a local charity, known as the Europia, is organizing a set of free lessons dedicated for different European languages. The event is organized in collaboration with Alliance Française and Dante Alighieri Society and will take place at Instituto Cervantes’ headquarters.
Here's the note that the organization dedicates to everyone:
We invite everyone to join this celebration of the linguistic and cultural diversity in Europe, which seeks to underline the importance of learning languages, increase knowledge and awareness of the value of languages and encourage the continued learning of languages throughout life.
All language lessons are FREE and OPEN to all, so be sure to drop by.
